1. What these terms cover

These terms cover your use of the website at marginpost.app and of the MarginPost desktop application V0.3 public preview ("MarginPost"). By using either, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

2. The software

The source code of MarginPost is released under the Apache License 2.0. That license governs how you may use, copy, modify, and distribute the source code. The MarginPost name and logo are unregistered trademarks of the project owner and are not licensed for use in a way that suggests endorsement or confuses people about the origin of a product.

3. Preview status and no warranty

MarginPost V0.3 is a public preview for testing. It is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Please test with copies of non-critical Markdown files and keep backups of important work. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the project owner is not liable for any loss of data, loss of profit, or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of MarginPost or this website.

4. Your files

MarginPost works on files on your own device. It does not upload your files or history. You are responsible for your files, for backups, and for the content you choose to open with the application.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use the website to attempt to disrupt it, gain unauthorized access, or violate the law. Do not use the project name or logo to mislead others.

6. Third-party services

Downloads, issues, and discussions are hosted on GitHub. The website is hosted on Cloudflare. Their own terms and privacy statements apply to those services.

7. Paid editions

No paid edition is offered at this time. If paid editions or services are introduced, their pricing, refund rules, and any additional terms will be published before they are offered for sale, and these terms will be updated.

8. Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top shows when they were last updated. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
